Who comes to our events?

The 2009 ACI Home Performance Conference in Kansas City, MO was attended by 1,237 people from the United States, Canada, Chile, and New Zealand.

These people place a very high value on our conferences. How do we know they are such big fans? Research from last year’s event in Kansas City reveals:

  • 88% of respondents said they would probably attend the 2010 conference in Austin, TX if budget was not factor (63% said absolutely they would).
  • 52% of respondents had been to previous ACI conferences.
  • 82% of respondents came from more than 200 miles away (91% from more than 50 miles away).

These people can’t get enough of our conferences – they keep coming back and they come from hundreds of miles away.

While the largest percentage of respondents are involved in residential energy ratings and renovation work, they are also strongly involved in business development, research, policy, and sustainable building design work.

Over a third of respondents are involved in training and quality control.

Their work is primarily focused on the local/regional/state level (83% of respondents).

These people are EXTREMELY active in the housing industry. More than half (59%) of respondents work with over a hundred buildings or housing units a year.

While most of respondents work with existing buildings (88%), almost half (48%) of them also work with new construction and almost a quarter (23%) work with commercial/institutional.
