VENT 2 - Ventilating with Forced Air Handlers: Pros & Cons
Tuesday, April 08, 2008 · 1:30 PM - 3:10 PM
Most commercial buildings supply and distribute outside air through the central air handling system. In residences, the same approach has gotten increasing application due to ventilation code requirements and the Building America program. The presenters have differing positions on this application and the session is designed to bring out these differences so the participants can evaluate a course of action for themselves. Cost and effectiveness will be reviewed and compared for many ventilation systems.
By attending this session, participants will
- Learn the best practices for applying mechanical ventilation using the central air handler
- Become familiar with equipment and operating costs for supplying and distributing ventilation air via the central system air handler in comparison to other residential ventilation systems
- Leave the session with a broader knowledge of the pros and cons of using the central forced air system for ventilation in residences
