ACI Home Performance Conference 2008

PART 4 - Attached Garages

Wednesday, April 09, 2008  ·  8:30 AM - 10:10 AM

Garages attached to houses, or under houses, often are a source of air quality problems. Despite codes requiring good separation of the garage air space and the house indoor air, air from the garage often has easy access to the house. The pollutants in garage air, including carbon monoxide, benzene, and others, can cause illness or death. Gain an understanding of the connections between garage and house air, and learn how to avoid problems in new and existing homes.

By attending this session, participants will

1.      Discover how garage air makes its way into houses
2.      Find out what pollutants come with garage air
3.      Hear about solutions in new and existing houses for keeping the house and garage separate
